Heat Pump Questions, Answered
Everything Auckland homeowners ask us most, in plain words. Still unsure? Call 0800 766 247 and a real person will help.
How much does a heat pump cost to run?
Far less than most heaters. A modern heat pump delivers three to four times more heat than the electricity it draws, so right-sized and installed well it can cut heating costs by up to 40 percent compared with plug-in heaters or older systems.
Link to this questionWhat size heat pump do I need?
It depends on room volume, insulation, ceiling height and sun. Oversizing wastes money and undersizing never quite warms the space, so we measure on site and size it properly rather than guessing from a floor area.
Link to this questionHow long does installation take?
A standard single high-wall unit is usually fitted in a day. Multi-room or ducted systems take longer, and we give you a realistic timeframe up front in your quote, not an optimistic one we cannot keep.
Link to this questionWhich brands do you install?
We supply and fit Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu and Panasonic. We recommend the brand and model that suits your home and budget, and we are happy to explain the trade-offs side by side.
Link to this questionIs the work guaranteed and are you insured?
Yes. Our installers are certified, we are fully insured, and your unit carries the manufacturer warranty, which we help keep valid with documented servicing. If something is not right, we put it right.
Link to this questionDo you service heat pumps you did not install?
Absolutely. We service and repair every major brand, whoever fitted it. A regular clean and check keeps running costs down and catches small faults before they become expensive ones.
Link to this questionAre heat pumps noisy?
Modern units are very quiet, both inside and out. Good placement matters, so we position the indoor and outdoor units to keep sound low and comfort high.
Link to this questionDoes a heat pump cool as well as heat?
Yes. Every heat pump we install both heats and cools, so the same system keeps you warm in winter and cool through a hot Auckland summer.
